Radial device manufacturers are always attempting to correlate their device to lowintensity shock wave therapy but radial devices have a different technology that requires more scrutiny and further clinical evidence is needed to prove their claims.
 
Preclinical studies in animals suggest that radial waves increase penile tissue cell apoptosis or cell suicide. No difference was found between radial waves and placebo therapy in the mean IIEF (International Index of Erectile Function) questionnaire score, EHS (Erection Hardness Score), and penile doppler parameters. No quality evidence was found to support the use of radial waves in humans for the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction.
