One of the biggest myths/misconceptions about MS is that most who are diagnosed will need a wheelchair .

Research shows that 60% of people won’t need a mobility aid, while 1520% of people with MS will require a mobility aid approximately 15 years (or longer) after diagnosis.

But this does NOT necessarily mean a wheelchair… this article suggested ANY mobility aid (walking stick, trekking pole, walker/rollator, wheelchair, etc.)!

When you’re first diagnosed, it’s a LOT to wrap your head around , but uncovering common myths/misconceptions can be SO helpful for your mindset.

Were you told this myth before?
How about any others, like “people with MS shouldn’t exercise”?
Or maybe “Once you have trouble walking, it won’t get better”?
