An upslip occurs when the hip bone moves straight upwards, relative to the sacrum. (This is also known as an upward shear). ⬆
Upslips can sometimes happen when the muscle that attaches to the top of the hip bone — the quadratus lumborum— goes into spasm.
Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can correct an upslip simply by releasing that muscle! ✨
