Evening and night time plane spotting at Tampa International Airport (TPA). A few heavies early in the evening, some rapid fire close up take offs from 1 Right after dark, one of the three new Jet Blue liveries came and went. And plenty of other action.

Camera work is extra shaky at the start. Thought my tripod was failing. Turned out to be operator failure. I had the pan drag set way too tight. That and it's hard to keep a 600mm lens smooth at full zoom in. Practice, practice, ...

The rapid fire 1 Right take offs later in the video were caused due to the Silver Airlines plane landing seeing some debris on runway. The Spirit Airlines plane who was already "line up and wait" agreed with ATC to hold to have it checked out. You can hear it play out some from the ATC. It took almost 20 minutes to get an ops vehicle to do a runway check and say nothing found. The planes continued to line up of course. The Spirit flight even asked about going over to 1 Left, but that audio didn't make it in this video.

Note: The camera that I'm using increases the brightness quite a bit during nighttime filming. It doesn't look like what you’re seeing in the video to the naked eye. I don't want to discourage anyone from nighttime spotting in person at TPA or other airports. It's a fun experience to hang out and watch the planes come and go after dark. At the same time, I don't want people to see the after dark video on this channel thinking it will look exactly the same in person and be disappointed.
