I've always wanted to get my hands on the original version of SSB and I finally got some good SVGA 60fps gameplay footage of it. Game version is 1.01.05. SSB 2004 has a difficulty setting which determines how hard the bowling ball will go through the pins on contact. It's set to normal difficulty for this gameplay footage.

The PC used is the same from my SSB 2007 videos except the video card is a Geforce 6600GT instead of the 7300GT (SSB 2004's Nvidia drivers were one of the earliest to support the 6600GT). The game doesn't seem to be as optimized in terms of performance as the framerate can drop even with the faster 6600GT as opposed to the 7300GT never slowing down in SSB 2007. But it's nowhere as bad as the stock setup of a 2.0GHz Celeron and Geforce FX 5200.
