The Jeep JL and JT have Aux batteries. Yep, you heard me correctly, there are two batteries. One for starting the engine and the other is used to keep things running during the Auto Stop/Start cycles. While this sounds great, there are issues when the Aux battery starts to die. Once you Aux battery stops holding its charge, it will cause your main battery to drain; thus you not being able to start your engine. The other common issue is with the Aux battery’s voltage low it will block you from starting the engine even with a fully charged main battery. Lastly, the Aux battery is not the easiest thing to change. So, don’t let the Aux battery leave you stranded get it disabled/bypassed today.
