The Singer 401g was the most advanced domestic sewing machine Singer had made at the time.

Made in Germany in the Mid 1960s, the 401g was capable of not only a zig zag stitch, but a huge array of embroidery stitches using built in cams and additional pattern disks.

Added to that, this aluminium, gear driven, rotary hook machine had Singer's slant shank design, to make the stitching point easier to see.
