Sinus tachycardia is a type of heart rhythm arising from the SA node that is fast but regular.
The SA node is known as the pacemaker of the heart and normally keeps the heart beating at a rate between 60100 bpm. If the pwaves are normal each with a normal QRS complex and it is regular, this is referred to as normal sinus rhythm.
However, if the SA node is firing rapidly and creates a rate greater than 100 bpm160/180 this is called sinus tachycardia.
On the flip side, if it is firing slowly at a rate less than 60 that
is referred to as bradycardia.
