I didn't expect to find this type of beach on Siquijor Island. On my third day on Siquijor Island I headed to a different beach area having stayed at Coco Grove Resort at Tubod Beach for the previous two nights. Probably the best resort I've ever stayed at. On the beach is Tubod Marine Sanctuary where I've been snorkelling for the first time in my life. Checked into Hannah's Place near Paliton Beach which I'd booked online with Agoda paying 1533 pesos. Then walked a kilometre from my guest house along the main Siquijor highway before finding the turn off to walk down to Paliton Beach. The beautiful light on the water and shape of the bay reminded me of Secret Beach on Bantayan Island, but with bars along the periphery, which Secret Beach lacks. It has a young, reggaesque vibe which can feel intimidating depending on your mood.

The Philippines should be on everyone’s bucket list with its beautiful white sand beaches, fabulous idyllic islands, turquoise sea and stunning scenery.
