Sit Stand Desk Build - How I Built an Electric Corner Sit Stand Desk

Follow
How I Did It

I'm going to show you how I went from 3 White Pine boards to the gorgeous, expansive Lshaped sit/stand desk. This thing is huge and plenty of space for several computers, big monitors, lights, and cameras for everything you need to do. I saved myself $800 by building it myself.

The sit stand is really helpful as it allows you to break up the day a bit by standing for part of it instead of sitting all day. Also, if you're recording youtube videos it's helpful because you can mount a camera on the desk, and have it rise with the table.

I'm not a carpenter, just a DIYer who works from home most of the time. I'm going to break down all of the materials you'll need and all the supplies to create the corner shaped comfy desk you see here

You can build this desk much cheaper without the sit stand component by just putting some cheaper legs on the bottom of it. The three motor kit for an L shaped desk can cost $500, but if you do a bit of shopping you can find it for less than $400.

I decided to use some wider white pine for the look I wanted, but you can really use any combination of any wood you'd like to build your desk.
