Miguel Orlando Collins was born 17 April 1976. He is known by his stage name Sizzla Kalonji a Jamaican reggae musician. He is one of the most commercially and critically successful contemporary reggae artists. Sizzla was born in St. Mary, Jamaica, to devout Rastafarian parents. Like them, Sizzla subscribes to the Bobo Ashanti branch of the Rastafari movement. He was raised in August Town, Kingston, Jamaica.
Sizzla Kalonji is a philanthropist and through his nonprofit Sizzla Youth Foundation (SYF) seeks to educate, feed, and create a safe space for all youths in Jamaica and the world at large. Sizzla’s message is “No crime, no violence… education is the key. Stay In school. Africa!”
