An enjoyable FPV flight suddenly turns to situation critical. Battery tanks are dry. 1.3 miles away from home I am challenged with stalling speeds, sink rates to glide ratio, altitude, premature ditching thoughts, power lines, fences and a creek collision.
The 14 minute flight was reduced to a seven minute video. Normally I get a 25 to 30's of flight time on fully charge batteries. I forgot to calculate my previous flight and assumed my OSD battery cell displayed 50% charged when in fact my actual voltage display was less then then 14.8 V.
Skyhunter recovered and zero damage, well except for the batteries. The 14.8 packs registered 12.3 V.
I managed to "land" about 50 yards from our home base so I guess that's not to bad.
