In recent months, a couple of interesting developmental varieties of AK mags have appeared on the market here in the US, and I figure folks might be interested in learning about the history of where and when they came from, and why they were used or not used. So today, we will look at the progression from slabside to ribbed to aluminum to "bakelite" magazines for the AK47, AKM, AK74, RPK, and RPK74. Russian ones, anyway we will leave magazines from other countries for another day!
