As social media platforms continue to expand, so also does media hegemony. Social media undoubtedly has a profound effect on our social, economic, and political views, as well as our willingness to engage debates or support causes. With this in mind, one might then wonder, to what extent can a member meaningfully participate in causes they are passionate about (e.g. social justice issues, charity, etc.) through social media? Better yet, do those participation efforts actually lead to change? Prevail is excited to enlighten delegates on how social media can in fact be an effective tool for change. Prevail, who is known for her passion, enthusiasm and charismatic personality, is currently completing her final year of studies at UNB/NBCC. Outside the classroom, she leads an adventurous life filled with fun activities ranging from hiking, sightseeing, trying out new recipes and cuisines, to spending quality time with family and friends.
