From Snatam Kaur's GrammyNominated album, Beloved, the first track 'Amul Priceless' is a sacred poem written by Guru Nanak.

Amul is the 26th pauree of Jap Ji Sahib, the morning prayer.

From Snatam Kaur: "I was attracted to sing this pauree of Jap Ji because of the word "amul." It just drew me in. The meaning of this word is "priceless." As I chanted it, I felt I could rise above the challenges of this world where everything and everyone is for sale, and instead be the priceless jewel of the soul that I am. I pray that people can feel the essence of this sacred word, to know that they can go beyond our incredibly heavy commercial world, and find their true identity and connection to spirit."

amul guṉ amul vaapaar.
Priceless are His Virtues, Priceless are His Dealings.

amul vaapaareeay amul bhanḏaar.
Priceless are His Dealers, Priceless are His Treasures.

amul aavah(i) amul lai jaah(i).
Priceless are those who come to Him, Priceless are those who buy from Him.

amul bhaai amulaa samaah(i).
Priceless is Love for Him, Priceless is absorption into Him.

amul(u) dharam(u) amul(u) deebaaṉ(u).
Priceless is th(i) Divine Law of Dharma, Priceless is the Divine Court of Justice.

amul(u) tul(u) amul(u) paravaaṉ(u).
Priceless are the scales, priceless are the weights.

amul(u) bakhasees amul(u) neesaaṉ(u).
Priceless are His Blessings, Priceless is His Banner and Insignia.

amul(u) karam(u) amul(u) phuramaaṉ(u).
Priceless is His Mercy, Priceless is His Royal Command.

amulo amul(u) aakhiaa na jaai.
Priceless, O Priceless beyond expression!

aakh(i) aakh(i) rahay liv laai.
Speak of Him continually, and remain absorbed in His Love.

aakhah(i) vayd paaṯh puraaṉ.
The Vedas and the Puraanas speak.

aakhah(i) paṟay karah(i) vakhiaaṉ.
The scholars speak and lecture.

aakhah(i) baramay aakhah(i) ind.
Brahma speaks, Indra speaks.

aakhah(i) gopee tai govind.
The Gopis and Krishna speak.

aakhah(i) eesar aakhah(i) sidh.
Shiva speaks, the Siddhas speak.

aakhah(i) kaytay keetay budh.
The many created Buddhas speak.

aakhah(i) daanav aakhah(i) dayv.
Th(i) demons speak, the demigods speak.

aakhah(i) sur(i) nar mun(i) jan sayv.
The spiritual warriors, the heavenly beings, the silent sages, the humble and serviceful speak.

kaytay aakhah(i) aakhaṉ(i) paahi.
Many speak and try to describe Him.

kaytay kah(i) kah(i) uṯh(i) uṯh(i) jaah(i).
Many have spoken of Him over and over again, and have then arisen and departed.

aytay keetay hor(i) karayh(i).
If He were to create as many again as there already are,

taa aakh(i) na sakah(i) kayee kayi.
even then, they could not describe Him.

jayvaḏ(u) bhaavai tayvaḏ(u) hoi.
He is as Great as He wishes to be.

naanak jaaṉai saachaa soi.
O Naanak, the True Lord knows.

jay ko aakhai boluvigaaṟ(u).
If anyone presumes to describe God,

taa likeeai sir(i) gaavaaraa gaavaar(u). ||26||
he shall be known as the greatest fool of fools! ||26||
