Welp I think I’m in love the BFS way of life has been hanging around the social media pages for the better part of a couple years now and it only seems to be getting more and more popular here in the US. Perfect timing as my buddy had a bait finesse systems combo he no longer wanted so I was able to get my feet wet with the technique!
The Shimano BFS XG reel is a good reel and I don’t have any major concerns with it, however, I can already tell pretty quickly that throwing those tiny tiny tiny baits is dang near impossible with this reel. At some point I’ll likely buy a new BFS reel (likely a Daiwa).
The Phenix Feather rod is absolutely awesome as it is, but obviously not a true BFS rod so I can’t give it any negative points when it comes to BFS fishing. At some point I’ll upgrade and get a true BFS rod and I think that will help me sling out those micro baits better!
Overall, it’s truly epic catching fish with such a small combo and I’ll likely be using this for those small creek and river adventures in the near future!
Thanks for watching! Catch ya'll on the next one!
