This video demonstrates how to solve a rational equation by first, getting the unknown out of the denominators of the equation, then simplifying into a polynomial (that in this case happens to be quadratic), then solving the equation, in this case using the quadratic formula. The solutions are checked graphically, in part to see if any of the solutions is extraneous.
