On a far away island, a group of scientists experimenting with the ability to control the weather make a shocking discovery!

The island is inhabited by giant insects including the mantislike Kamacuras and giant spider Kumonga! A small group of Kamacuras appear to unearth a gigantic egg In the center of the island, and from that egg hatches the loveable Minilla (also known as Minya)! Hearing the cries of its "son," Godzilla appears to save Minilla from the Kamacuras and even takes on Kumonga as well.

This film from 1967 was the first to feature Minilla. Despite many people confusing Minilla with a certain "nephew" of Godzilla in a cartoon series from the late 1970s, the character would appear in a number of films (and forms) with the last being 2004's "Godzilla Final Wars."
