Sonic the Hedgehog 3, an upcoming actionadventure comedy film inspired by Sega's beloved video game series, serves as the sequel to both Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022). Directed by Jeff Fowler, the movie features returning stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Idris Elba, and Jim Carrey, alongside newcomer Keanu Reeves.

Announced in February 2022 at ViacomCBS's investor event preceding the second film's release, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 faced delays due to the 2023 SAGAFTRA strike. Animation for the characters commenced in July 2023 in Surrey, England, followed by liveaction filming starting in London in November of the same year. Production wrapped up by March 2024. Drawing significant inspiration from the beloved video game Sonic Adventure 2 (2001), the movie is set to hit theaters in the United States on December 20, 2024, courtesy of Paramount Pictures.
