Lymphadenopathy and Lymphadenitits are often used interchangeably. Lymphadenopathy is a broad term that refers to any abnormality of the number, size or appearance of lymph nodes.

Cervical lymphadenopathy is quite common, especially in children. There are about 50150 lymph nodes in the neck region (over 600 in the body).
