In this comparison, I compare the Sony A7IV to the Panasonic Lumix S5II. Both cameras were recording in 4K at their highest quality settings. I wanted to showcase the differences between Dynamic Range, color science, and low light iso, which are most prevalent when using the official Rec709 LUTs from Sony and Panasonic. I did concert their LOG files using a Color Space Transform in DaVinci Resolve and noticed the dynamic range was pretty negligible. Other than the official LUTs, there was no grading involved, except for a slight exposure shift when the fstop accidentally changed. Also, the footage was exported and uploaded in very low compression ProRess 422 4K.
