Southwest Airlines Landing in Orange County / John Wayne (SNA)

The one plus side of my missed connection in route to Long Beach was I got to fly into Orange County John Wayne (SNA) for the first time. The funny thing about the approach is the view I had of LGB on the downwind leg as we crossed the coastline. Landing at SNA is definitely an experience and winds didn't help matters any. We had just as much trouble as the high wing single engine landing parallel to us on 20L. With the difference in approach speed it seemed as if that acft was crawling to the runway. This was without a doubt the roughest, most firm landing I've ever experienced. I know the 737 likes to float and especially with the short runway at SNA you have to set the acft down firm but that was unexpected. Thankfully I've never been in a true, technically "Hard" landing although this time around I was reminded why I no longer prefer to sit in the area of the center wing box.
