Once we left the desert, our Oregon BDR motorcycle trip progress accelerated considerably. After camping overnight on ORBDR section 4 near Bend, Oregon, we hit the trail early and completed ORBDR Section 4 and ORBDR Section 5 before stopping for a late lunch in Detroit, Oregon and then taking on the first part of ORBDR section 6 before stopping for some camping at Olallie Lake for the night.

One of the big highlights of the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route is Skylight Cave on section 5, which we checked out along the way. Afterward, we headed up to the Cache Mountain expert section to check out the awesome views from the top before riding back down the mountain and tackling the worst Oregon BDR sand in between Big Lake and Highway 20 on Oregon BDR section 5. After we hit highway 20, the route got much easier and took us all the way to Detroit, Oregon with ease. Doing the Oregon BDR on motorcycles is the best way to see the state, and we had so much fun checking out all the amazing landmarks along the way before stopping to motorcycle camp at Olallie Lake on night 4 of our Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route motorcycle trip.
