Spiritist cults used Egyptian mummy in the National Museum

The files kept in cardboard boxes came to light after the death of the doctor Luiz Cláudio Stawiarski, in Brasília. He was the son of Egyptologist Victor Stawiarski, who coordinated sessions with reports of trance and hypnosis at the National Museum, between the 1950s and 1970s. Students who touched the mummy described going back to the time of Ancient Egypt and experiencing strange sensations. In this video, one of the participants, located in the interior of São Paulo, talks about the experience that marked her and even became the subject of writer Affonso Romano de Sant'Anna's column in Jornal do Brasil. After analyzing some cases, psychologist João Oliveira believes that it could be autosuggestion. Photographer Fernando Lemos studied a photograph taken by a visitor to the museum in 1975. The image would show a couple and a supposed apparition of the mummy's spirit. Apparently, he noted, there are no signs of fraud.
