The Spring King Bolete (Boletus rexveris) aka the Spring Porcini is one of my absolute favorite mushrooms to forage it is arguably the best Spring Mushroom to be found in the PNW this time of year. The Spring King offers a nutty flavor and firm texture that makes it one of the top culinary wild mushrooms out there... and the fact that it can't be cultivated, but only sourced from the mountains of the Pacific Northwest (California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, British Columbia, and parts of Montana) make it a very special treat. When it comes to mushroom hunting, this is one that is definitely worth looking for!
