Presenting a production of one of my favorite pieces of railroad:
This is the SP&S Oregon Trunk in Modern day 2020!

The majority of the Oregon Trunk was built by the SP&S and is now operated by the BNSF. This short movie covers the North end of the Oregon Trunk along the Deschutes River Canyon, Trout Creek Canyon and more. Specific locations in this video include Tunnel 1, Sinamox, Oakbrook, Tunnel 2, Cambrai, Trout Creek Trestle, and Paxton.

This production was filmed over three different days during the summer with the third day actually being the busiest day of rail traffic I've ever witnessed in person topping out at a whopping four trains during the daylight hours. The Oregon Trunk is generally a pretty slow route. To see three trains in the Deschutes River Canyon during the daylight is considered a good day.

The ruggedness and depth of the Deschutes River Canyon is quite spectacular. There's something special about capturing trains within its walls.
