The opening cinematic and first mission from the 1997 PC game by the now defunct Microprose, Star Trek Generations. Based on the seventh film in the Star Trek franchise, this game has the player scouring the cosmos for a madman bent on returning to an extradimensional realm known as the Nexus, whose schemes have endangered countless lives.

In this first stage, the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC1701D) has responded to a distress call from a Federation observatory orbiting the Amargosa star. The station's attackers are, as of yet, unidentified. Commander Riker, the Enterprise's first officer, will investigate the attack and rescue any survivors still onboard.
