In September 2015, Steve met the stranger who saved his life after he was diagnosed with a blood cancer. Three years previously, we had found Tom on our stem cell donor register – a perfect match, potentially the lifesaver that Steve needed to cure his myeloma.

After many months of treatment, Steve got the all clear. But he never forgot his donor, and after 2 years the two men were in contact. Not everyone who receives a transplant gets to meet the person who saved their life. But we were there to see it happen – and we want to share their story with you.
