Line and Color Quick Start Guide: https://www.thedrawingcodex.com/quick...

In this video I cover the basic drawing concepts you need to ground your characters and make them feel like they are balanced.

Avoiding awkward floating feet is a big part of professional drawing as a concept artist or comicbook artist.

Once you can control the basic standing pose you can then start to layer in different foot position and different ways the body can be balanced.

More videos coming up soon to deal with the next concepts that follow this (hip and torso movement when the feet move from this standard pose. And how to carry these drawing concepts over to action poses.)

If you want to learn about the techniques I am using based on the Loomis Method you can check out these videos:

With most types of stylised types of art There is often a mix of structure and perspective and technical drawing.... combined with symbols and abstract features.

Once you get good at blocking in proportion and posing with the Loomis Method you can use it to suit your own style.

It's just a tool you can use to help you draw cool stuff!

Happy Drawing!
