I wanted to test out the snow accumulating effects of applying ice melt and rock salt to my driveway prior to a snow storm so I cleared a portion of my driveway to compare the two products sidebyside.

In the end I got a lot less snow than I anticipated but I could clearly see a diminished accumulation of snow in the areas of application compared to the adjacent area of the driveway that received no ice melting agents of any kind.
