I hear wellmeaning parents say this to their kids all the time! The trouble is that it creates anxiety rather than relief. If you are noticing that your child is learning and forgetting, learning and forgetting, it’s probably due to memory issues. Your child can be REALLY smart AND still have memory issues. Try to be understanding and BELIEVE YOUR CHILD when he or she says they can’t remember. Just reexplain whatever it is and practice it some more. Don’t make it a big deal.
