Stormy Retreat Step by Step Acrylic Painting on Canvas for Beginners

Painting with Jane

Let's do a black and white painting without using black paint! We're going to mix our own black and talk about composition while painting a stormy sky with lightning and a cabin by a river.

I’m painting on a 12x16inch stretched canvas, but you can paint on any type and size of canvas you like.

I used:
• A 1 & 1/2in flat brush
• 1/2in angle
• Long liner
• #12 & #4 cloud brush
• Flat, old, natural bristle brush
• #8 bright
Most of these brushes are available or will be very soon on my website: http://bit.ly/2i9SFPf

I’m using Liquitex Basics acrylic paint in the following colors:
• Titanium White
• Phthalocyanine Blue
• Burnt Umber
• Naphthol Crimson
• Cadmium Yellow Deep (Hue)
But you can use any colors you like. Experiment and see what other colors you can use to make black!
