The Idaho BDR is an incredibly unique experience due to the variety of terrain, unpredictable weather, and humbling expanses of true wilderness.

In the summer of 2023, my father and I chose to ride the 1600 mile long Backcountry Discovery Route. This is episode one of our journey.

The day began with bright skies and a solidified plan for the next 14 days, but we soon realized that we would be at the mercy of nature.
