San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico

Domingo, 48 years old, has been a shoe shiner in the San Cristobal de las Casas square for 22 years. He cleaned my shoes well, applied black polish, and shined them so nice and glossy. Today I am cleaning a shoe shine on my men's black leather loafers shoes.

San Cristobal is the coolest mountain city I have ever been to. I absolutely loved my time there, and I hope to be back. The craft beer, coffee, hot chocolate, and fresh homemade food everywhere was a joy each day in San Cristobal. The fun vibe is contagious. I also felt such appreciation for the local Indigenous people there, by their smiles and kindness.
