Stucco finishes failing, why stucco separates.

In this howto video, we explain why stucco failures happen.
Poor adhesion is mainly why stucco and/or paint can separate or blister and fall off walls.
This video explains how to create a good bond for adhering to stucco, primer, and paint.
Here we show a color coat that was separating from the stucco wall.

Any particles, weather dust, moss, or paint must be washed well before any bonding agent is applied to the wall surface. I like to call this process microscoring or etching. You use a pressure washer with at least 3,000 psi, plus a turbo tip for washing and scoring or etching the existing paint surface.

However, Qiikrete white bonding agent is sold at all Home Depot, Lowes, and most smaller hardware stores.
It sells for about ten bucks for a pint.
Quikrete bonding agent is just as good, if not better.
When this bonding agent drys, it’s clear and a bit shiny.
