The Rockwell B1 Lancer is a supersonic variablesweep wing, heavy aircraft used by the United States Air Force (USAF). It is commonly called the "Bone" (from "BOne"). The USAF had 66 B1Bs in service as of September 2012. The B1B is expected to continue to serve into the 2030s, with the Northrop Grumman B21 Raider to begin replacing the B1B after 2025. The B1s currently in inventory will reach the end of their service lives by 2045.
