STV News (Central) is a Scottish news division produced by STV founded in 1972 as ‘Scotland Today’ (and ‘Tonight’) and has been a staple for the viewers in the STV region. However In 2009, the early evening broadcasts were rebranded to ‘STV News’. However, the latenight editions, which follow the ‘News at Ten’, retain the ‘Scotland Tonight’ titles and continue to be broadcast throughout both the North and South STV regions.
