Artists are often inspired by those who came before them. I've considered the artist John Berkey to be one of my early inspirations, and I've studied his techniques for a long time. My own personal painting and drawing style resembles those of John Berkey (in a raw, unpolished state of course). I love the layering, the abstraction of detail, and the dramatic brush strokes. It stays away from being crisp reality, yet still looks amazing on close inspection. I've aspired to harness the style for my own evil artistic purposes.

For whatever reason, tonight's painting just flew out of my brain and onto the canvas. Sometimes, a plan works. Enjoy, I had a blast with this one.
