Plantbased food for her young family’s good health: that’s why Phố Phạm scrapped the lawn for a backyard food forest. She lined the fence with seasonal vegetables—including 200 peppers—and potted up 300 fruit trees. Peaches, pears, plums, figs, guavas, and citrus head to the kitchen for rightnow eating, along with preserves and spicy sauces. From a hydro grow tent, they harvest fresh mushrooms.
