We return to the twisted world of Dark Deception in this awesome 2D remake of the beloved horror game. Inspired by games from the Super Nintendo era we get an all new look for Dark Deception and its first four levels in chapter one.
It is very faitfhul to the original 3D game with even some of the paths you need to take during chase sequences being the exact same. Experiencing it now from a different perspective feels fresh, though it makes a few stages a lot harder too. Especially the level with the masked statues is even harder now due to the fact that you have to press R while running and strafing. With the original game you just had to look a certain direction and press the button to walk backwards.
Also with levels like Monkey Business it can be difficult since you cannot see if a monkey is coming at you from the end of the hall whereas with the first person perspective that was no problem. There were a few bugs and glitches here and there, but overal I was happy to return to this series and relive my memories from all those years ago with a new coat of paint. The other chapters will be added in later and I will definitely archive those as well!
