I have been using Simplify3D as my slicer since 2014, but a recent drive failure meant I was stranded without my print profiles. Since the major S3D update promised in 2019 seems no closer, it was the perfect time to switch to a more modern, powerful slicer. In this video I explain why I chose SuperSlicer and why the correct slicer choice is very subjective.

If Simplify3D is your choice, do yourself a favour and regularly export and backup your printer profiles. It’s not fun to have to start again, in either S3D or a new slicer.
If the Simplify3D update ever hits, I’ll probably pay to try it and make a video, although it will take a lot for me to switch back now!
