When you buy the Smith and Wesson FPC brand new the first thing you should do is field strip it and reoil it. The manufacture does not oil or lube, the product. This is something you need to do prior to any live usage. It also states this on page 45 of the FPC manual under cleaning and maintenance. It also states on the response manual page 45 or 47.
