Synthesis of epoxides is a useful synthetic procedure that you might need to use in your course. In this tutorial I'll discuss the two main methods of the epoxide synthesis: epoxide formation via epoxidation of alkenes with mCPBA and other peroxy acids, and formation of epoxides via halohydrins.
