Recipe for: Syrupy Pie with Lokum. Proven Recipe!

Required products:

500 g of minced peels

For the filling:
300 g of walnuts, finely chopped or ground
300 g of pink Turkish delight, each piece cut into 4

To spread the crusts:
2 eggs
200 g of sugar
100 ml. oil
200 g of yogurt
120 g of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder

For the syrup:
400 g of sugar
800 ml. water
The juice of half a lemon
1 ampoule of liquid vanilla

Method of preparation:

Syrup:
Pour the water into a saucepan and add the sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Wait for it to boil and cook for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat, add the lemon juice and vanilla. Stir and let the syrup cool.

Spreading mixture:
Add the baking powder to the flour and mix. In a large bowl, mix the yogurt, oil, sugar and eggs. Gradually add the flour and mix until you get a medium thick mixture.

Arrangement of the pie:
Take 1 crust and spread 2 tablespoons of the mixture. Place a second crust and again spread 2 tablespoons of the mixture. At the wide end of the crusts, put walnuts and pieces of Turkish delight. Roll up and place in the center of a greased baking sheet, rolling it into a snail shape. Repeat with the remaining shells, wrapping each one around the snail. Pour the remaining mixture over the cake.

Baking:
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees, without a fan, in the lower part of the oven for about 3540 minutes.

Watering:
Pour the cooled syrup over the baked cake. Let the pie cool and put it in the fridge for at least 2 hours. It is best consumed the next day.
