I decided to make a shakedown fatbiking trip along the 60 mile McCarthy Road in Alaska. I also journeyed to Kennecott, an old mining town that experienced its heyday between 19111938. The road conditions going in were rather pleasant, but temperatures warmed up during my stay in McCarthy and the return trip was a slog, slushy, muddy mess. Such is life.
