Talking History, a new series on Rajya Sabha TV is charting the past of fabulous Indian cities and their history.
In this episode we revisit the past of Delhi from prehistoric times to its foundation laid by Tomar king Anangpal and the later 12th century era of great warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan who faced the attack of Muhammad Ghori at the Battle of Tarain (Taraori). The era saw several vital installations in Delhi of old times with construction of mighty fort called Lal Kot by Anangpal Tomar, which was later expanded by Prithviraj Chauhan and renamed Qila Rai Pithora.
Other historic cities like Surajkund, Anangpur and Ballabgarh were founded in this era.
