[TAS] RHDC.ppt in

Funny story, this hack refused to work for me despite setting all the graphics options and stuff correctly, and then it just... decided to work today. So I TASed it in a single day before the emulator changed its mind.

RHDC.ppt is a Super Mario 64 ROM Hack (I'm not kidding, https://romhacking.com/hack/rhdc.ppt ) where you play as an extremely caffeine dependant office worker, forced to slog through a boring corporate presentation... that has a Super Mario 64 engine built into its slides.

There's two layers of gameplay going on at once, where you both control Mario in his quest to get all the Power(point) Stars and end the presentation, and the office worker so he doesn't fall asleep and get fired. You're intended to watch your energy level and refill your cup of coffee when it runs low, but thanks to a glitch (Drinking out of your cup the instant a coworker steals it), you get infinite coffee, which means you only need to visit the coffee machine once at the start of the game.

As for the actual Mario portion, it's SM64 locked to 2D (Well, 2.5D; Mario's angle can be facing into the foreground or background, which is helpful in certain sections). Thanks to TAS capabilities, many of the slides are completed with (probably) unintended solutions, and another glitch allows two of them to be outright skipped completely.

Slide 1
Sliding all the way down the paint brush and jumping at the end lets us barely reach the second bar, after which I doubletriple jump dive to the star.

Slide 2
A simple long jump followed by a series of firstframe wall kicks reaches the star easily.

Slide 3
The moving bar graph makes movement a bit cumbersome here, but I'm still able to triple jump dive up to the star instead of doing movement below.

Slide 4
The first instance of complete cheesing with the glitch; Mario is considered to be on the ground for one single frame after the star dance animation is completed, which allows him to do a midair jump if the new slide's spawn point is high up in the air (I'm calling this the Spawn Jump exploit). It happens that I'm able to jump right up to where the star is, skipping the rest of the slide.

Slide 5
Unfortunately, I can't cheese this one, and I'm forced to wait for stage cycles. I do manage to skip another long period of waiting by accessing a glitched portion of the last circle (Which acts as water despite being orange) thanks to conserving speed with a slide kick.

Slide 6
A simple path with a moving red line graph to impede progress; I do another triple jump dive to get to the star without having to deal with it.

Slide 7
In contrast to the original game, jumping off of platforms that are also moving here give you a proper momentum boost; I do a super triple jump on the second bar to launch all the way to the end.

Slide 8
Another slide heavily impeded by stage cycles; I'm barely able to make it to the middle of the slide in time (As seen by the bar pushing me to the right), but I have to wait regardless.

Another momentum boosted triple jump (Followed by a momentum boosted dive) to reach the star

Slide 10
The Spawn Jump Exploit unfortunately doesn't make it to the very top of the slide, so I have to fall down and complete it "normally" (Which involves a triple jump wallkick to skip it anyway).

Slide 11
You have to enter the door to reach the rest of the slide, as the upper corner is bounded by walls and stuff. Otherwise simple platforming.

Slide 12
You can't just use the trampoline to reach the star on the left, as the developers foresaw this and put an invisible ceiling there. I'm still able to cheese it without using the yellow trampoline by placing the red one right at the edge.

Slide 13
A slide with a slide. I slide on the slide until I reach max speed, and jump straight into the star.

Slide 14
Thanks to the Spawn Jump Exploit also conserving speed, I'm able to do a super jump to skip this slide too.

Slide 15
This one is four minislides, of which I do unintended strategies for three of them.

Slide 16
I stand on the buttons for as little time as possible so that I'm barely able to make it to the star.

Slide 17
By doing a very precise triple jump dive to grab the red trampoline, I'm able to bring it to the second platform without needing the yellow one.

Slide 18
Similar concept to Slide 16.
