Did ya miss me?

Sorry about the long hiatus; over the course of the past year, I've gotten busier in real life with college, a job, etc. Unfortunately, this means that I cannot guarantee when the next big project will be uploaded. What I can say is I want to try to do more Wii Party TASes in the future. Assuming I can find the time (and I don't lose motivation again), I'll try to make a longer TAS video.

FAQ:
Q: What is a TAS?

A: ToolAssisted Speedrun (or ToolAssisted Superplay) is a special type of speedrun where the goal is to simulate perfect (or nearperfect) gameplay.

Q: What "Tools" are used?

A: Generally speaking, there are several tools that are used:

TAS Input allows the user to input precise button input and/or movement

Frame Advance Allows the user to advance the game by a single frame (0.033 seconds in a 30fps game, 0.016 seconds in a 60fps game)

Save States saves the exact frame that you are currently on. This state can be reloaded later to redo certain parts of the run

Other tools include but are not limited to:

Memory Watch Allows the user to see precise data for their velocity, location, angle of the character, etc

Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE) Custom coded commands inputted on the game console

It should be noted that mods and hacks (aimbot, god mode, etc.) aren't allowed. Any run that has a modified version of the game should be disregarded (unless it's an official category of the game being ran).

Q: Is TAS cheating?

A: Because TAS is a separate category from runs done in realtime, it isn't cheating. The only time TAS is cheating is when it is passed off as a run done in realtime.

Q: Is TAS done through programming a bot to do the gameplay?

A: No

Q: How long does it take to make a TAS?

A: It depends on the game, as well as the goal of the TAS. The time span can range from hours to years if it is a TAS of the full game.

Q: Is glitching allowed in a TAS?

A: Yes. The rules of any% normally apply to a TAS run unless stated otherwise.
