Historias Vivas | Gente, Vida, Documentales

To the south of Australia, we find the island of Tasmania, the last stop before heading to Antarctica. It is an island battered by strong winds. Its location, away from maritime routes, turned it into a land to imprison the crown's convicts during the 19th century, but this isolation has also allowed it to protect its magnificent natural environment.

First, we will meet Richard, a photographer who loves the light and the diverse landscapes that this beautiful island can offer.

Then, we will meet Steve, a former park ranger who searches for the ancient Huon pines. He lives in a cabin in the middle of nature and will show us a very peculiar lifestyle.

Finally, we will meet Liam and James, two young surfing enthusiasts who travel the entire island in search of the best waves and deserted beaches.

This film was first released in 2011.
