The video describes the taste pathway from the taste receptors to the gustatory area in the cerebral cortex:
1. Taste receptors: taste buds
2. First order neuron: geniculate ganglion of the facial nerve, inferior ganglion of the glossopharyngeal nerve and inferior ganglion of the vagus nerve.
3. Second order neuron: upper third of the nucleus solitarius in the medulla oblongata.
4. Third order neuron: ventral posterior medial nucleus of the thalamus (VPMNT)
5, Gustatory area (area 43): present in the lower end of the postcentral gyurus and parainsular cortex.
